Slow luxury shoe & accessories brand based out of Lima.
Renata Garcia-Menacho, Cornelio Borda's founder, celebrates craftsmanship, carrying out the soul of Peru.
For her collections she collaborates with local artisans a.o. from the Andes preserving ancestral art techniques. For the iconic Alpaca 'carpet' shoes, she developed a unique way to reuse waste materials from the local fashion industry, such as alpaca and pima cotton yarn, reinforcing sustainability.
The shoes are as soft as animal fur, however animal cruelty free*.
To respect the value and time of artisanship, each pair takes up to six weeks to produce.
The brand Cornelio Borda is dedicated to Renata's great-aunts, strong and independent women who loved their cultural heritage. They lived on the Cornelio Borda Street in Lima, Peru.

*For some models in the latest Andina Collection, Cornelio Borda is using alpaca fur. However, this fur is certified as reused material, as the alpaca is a protected animal in Peru.
